How the Coast domain started It all began a few years ago when Nanvaent wasn't as big as it is nowadays. Two trial creators called Qwilly and Murt, who didn't actually play the game, started to code a mayor project: Nanvaent's first real, big city called Shamaroth. After three weeks of hard work, they opened the gates to the city. After a while when both creators idled a lot and enjoyed themselves watching players hacking and slashing in their city, the Gods decided to move the city to a new location. Formerly it was located near the main village in the Valley domain. There was no need to travel far to find some newbie or high-level monsters. This wasn't exactly what the Gods wanted so they moved the city near the southwest shore of Nanvaent. From that very moment, the Coast domain was under development. After a few upgrades the Gods decided to promote Murt, one of the former creators of Shamaroth, to the rank of Lord. Get this domain running, they said. Too proud, Murt decided to close all the areas to put more quality into the city and surrounding areas. One big mistake, because one person cannot do all the work when they are busy in real life. So the Coast ended up asa ghost area. Players were complaining and asking when the city was going to be reopened again. It was then when a team of coders, led by Gandalf, joined the Coast Domain. During Murt's absence they literally built up the Coast from scratch. Nowadays, the coast is a new and exciting area. You should always expect new areas. The theme of the Coast is not clearly defined. Although it started as a haven area, the Coast is offers much more. From the sweet smelling meadows to the islands beyond the eastern seas, from the pirate's cove to the (not open yet) dwarven outpost Norduum. There is still much more work to do to make this domain more exciting and challenging. With the team currently working on various areas and quests, we are sure we will accomplish this goal in the future. To convince yourself of the beauty, grab the map and begin your journey into the lands of Greicha, Lord of Shamaroth. Perhaps you will bump into Gartharrk, the orcish captain or the legendary Dwor, the dwarven guildmaster of Norduum. Maybe, maybe you will meet a dragon or two. Murt, (ex) Lord of the Coast. |
